Compression and support stockings are hard work to put on, which is the main reason clients stop wearing them and the swelling or ulcer risk comes back. The Etac Socky support is made for that specific task.
The stocking is loaded onto the aid, then the person slides their foot in and pulls upward while twisting the Socky around their hands, which walks the stocking up the leg. At the end of the movement the aid separates into two parts and comes away cleanly, so there is no struggle to pull it back out from under the stocking.
The long handles mean the person does not need to bend to the floor or reach past the knee, which suits clients with back pain, hip precautions or limited reach. It is fabric, folds away into a drawer and hand washes.
It is a low cost item that often decides whether compression therapy actually gets followed at home.
