When mild compression is not holding the swelling, the next level up is firmer, and firmer usually means harder to apply. Core-Spun at this level keeps the stretchy core spun yarn construction, so the client gets stronger graduated compression in a sock that still gives enough to pull on.
It is used for moderate swelling, tired and heavy legs and ongoing venous symptoms where a therapist has decided mild support is not enough. Moisture wicking fibres keep the skin dry, the non restrictive top stays in place all day, and the sock looks and feels like normal hosiery, which helps with the clients who quietly stop wearing the medical looking ones.
Short lengths are available alongside regular, so the sock can be matched to calf length as well as shoe size.
Compression at this level should be measured and fitted properly.
