About this product

For a client who leans or slips forward on a shower commode chair, the safety strap gives the carer a simple way to keep them back against the backrest. It attaches to the rear of the back support and adjusts in length, so it can be set once for a client and left in place.

It is intended as a reminder and a light restraint against forward movement during showering and toileting, and it is always used together with a positioning belt. Both the strap and the belt need to be set up and checked by the prescribing clinician for the individual client.

The strap fits the regular backrest, so it can be added to a chair already in service without any other change. It is quick for a carer to fasten and release, which keeps a bathroom routine moving.
