A larger client needs room across the hips and something solid to hold on the way down and the way up. The Endeavour over wide chair gives both: extra room between the arms, with a fixed backrest and raised arms to lower onto and push up from.
The frame is rust resistant steel with multi-point height adjustment, so the seat can be set to the client’s lower leg length and sit level on the floor. Edges are smoothed for wiping down and the feet are slip resistant, which is what keeps it steady on a wet tiled surface.
It is used in home bathrooms and in aged care, particularly where a carer assists with showering and needs the client seated and stable for the whole shower. The arms and backrest are fixed rather than removable, so it is not the chair for a client who needs to transfer sideways onto it.
Good to know
- Fixed arms and backrest, not removable
- Set the seat height to the client before first use and check the chair sits level on the floor
- A standard width version of the same chair is also available
