An armrest with its vertical stem is what you order when the client needs upper limb support built into the seating system. It mounts to the seat pan, which means you set the height and the position against the seated posture in front of you.
Multiple sliding adjustments let you bring the pad in or out and forward or back, so a shoulder that is being dragged down or an elbow that has nothing to rest on can be supported properly. The pad is firm underneath with a pressure relieving foam layer on top, and elbow or forearm blocks can be added under the shell where a client needs containment during tilt.
Flip down brackets are available if transfers are the priority, since the pad clears the way and comes straight back to the set position.
