Break cords are the link between a pressure pad or floor mat and the monitor it reports to. They are designed to pull apart under load, so a bed being wheeled away, or a client catching their foot, separates the cord and leaves the pad and socket undamaged.
That safety feature is also why they need replacing. Every deliberate separation is wear, and in a busy facility a cord is usually the first component to fail.
This is the USB-B type, used with Cura1 bed pads, chair pads and floor mats. It comes in a range of lengths and plug types so you can match the socket on the monitor or nurse call system you are connecting into.
