About this product

A bed that goes to the floor changes what a fall from bed means. The Cobalt CB12 drops low enough that a client who rolls out has a short distance to travel, then rises to a proper working height so the carer is not bending over the bed all shift. That is the whole argument for a floorline bed, and this one carries a high safe working load with it.

All four functions run from the hand control. The backrest brings the client up to sit, eat or breathe more easily, and auto-regression pulls the surface back as it rises so the client is not dragged down the bed by their own sacrum. The knee break holds them in place, tilt and reverse tilt are there for clinical positioning, and a single button sets a chair position. There is a manual calf lift, under-bed lighting for night care, and castors so the bed moves for cleaning and access.

Who it suits

Clients with a history of falls from bed, night-time confusion or dementia where rails are not appropriate, and clients who need frequent repositioning. The king single is the size to pick when there is a larger client, or when carers need room to work with slide sheets. A client who transfers independently does not need floorline height.
