When a child leans or collapses sideways in the car, the usual cause is space between their trunk and the seat’s lateral supports. These trunk positioning pads close that gap. Medifab lists them on the script form as upgraded lateral supports with firm padding for added trunk control.
They are a pair of firm padded inserts that fit the lateral trunk supports of the Carrot 3000. Because they are firmer than the standard seat padding, they give a more definite contact surface to work against, and they reduce the width available at the trunk so a smaller child is held rather than floating in the seat. They fit in place without tools and cover both sides.
Script them with the seat, or add them later as the child changes. If firm lateral padding is not enough on its own, a harness change or a different seat width may be what is needed.
