For some clients, driving with the joystick centred in front of the body is the more natural position, and a midline arm is how the controller gets there. The straight arm carries a joystick close to the armrest and holds it steady at the end of the arm, which helps a client working with a small, precise movement range.
It is stainless steel with a satin finish, so it resists corrosion and scratching, and it can be cut to length with a tube cutter while the client stays seated. That keeps the fitting to one visit, with the arm length set to the person and not to the nearest size.
The arm mounts through the Bodypoint Tri-Lock system, so it can swing clear for transfers and table access once the clamp and shaft are in place. Communication devices, phones and tablets can be carried on the same arm.
