A security cover that snaps over a push button hip belt buckle and limits who can release it. It is for the client who undoes their own belt when it is not safe to do so, whether that is a child who has worked out the button or an adult with impaired judgement or high anxiety in the chair.
The cover leaves the buckle fully functional for a carer while making it difficult for small fingers to reach the button. It snaps on and off without tools, so it does not slow down a planned transfer and does not prevent release in an emergency.
Where a belt is prescribed for positioning, keeping it done up is what makes the prescription work, so this is often the piece that holds the rest of the set-up together.
