A foam underlay that sits between the bed base and a pressure relieving overlay. Its job is to catch the client if the overlay above it fails.
If a pump stops or a cell loses air overnight, the client would otherwise come to rest on the bed base. This layer of foam holds them off it until someone notices, which is the difference between a scare and a pressure injury in a home where nobody is checking the pump at 3am. It also evens out an older or tired mattress base underneath the overlay.
The nylon cover has stitched seams, and the underlay can be rotated and flipped to spread wear. It is made to work as part of a pressure care setup and is not intended to be used on its own. Available in single and king single.
