Who it suits
Clients who cannot walk to the toilet or stand in the shower, and who are better served by being wheeled to the bathroom seated than by attempting a transfer at each end. It covers showering and toileting on the one chair, which keeps the number of transfers down.
The castors let a carer move the chair through the house and into position over the pan, so the client stays seated from the bedroom to the bathroom. For clients with poor standing tolerance or a high falls risk, that continuous seated support is the safest part of the arrangement.
The frame and seat are built for a wet environment and drain and dry between uses, and the open front gives access for perineal care and for wiping without asking the client to stand.
Measurement matters with a mobile shower commode, particularly doorway widths and the clearance over the pan.
