A trunk that curves does not sit flat against a flat pad. The Axial Biangular lateral pad from the Spex trunk support range solves that with a pivot link built inside the pad itself, so the pad can be angled through its middle instead of only tilted as a whole. You can follow a concave or convex deviation rather than pressing the trunk into a single plane and hoping it settles.
Each half swings well past flat in either direction, which covers most of what you meet in practice, and the Axial mounting hardware places the pad almost anywhere across the support frame. Height, depth and rotation are set to the client rather than to whatever the chair offers.
Covers come off for washing. Two styles are available: a standard cover, and the Comfy cover with a pull strap that releases the swing-away mechanism, which helps a carer clear the pads quickly for a transfer. Padding is offered in two pressure reduction depths, so a client who sits against the pad all day can have more between the ribs and the hardware.
