An arm trough supports the forearm and hand of a client whose upper limb has no active control, so the arm rests in a safe position and does not hang off the side of the chair. That protects the shoulder from traction, keeps the hand away from the wheel and helps reduce swelling in a dependent arm.
This is a one piece trough, so the channel and the base are a single moulded part with no join to trap food or fluid, which makes it quicker to wipe down. It comes with the mounting hardware included, so the trough can be fitted to a wheelchair armrest and set at the height and angle the client needs.
It suits clients after stroke, and anyone with flaccid or poorly controlled upper limb function who is seated for long periods.
