The Vicair Multifunctional O2 is made for clients seated in a tilt in space wheelchair, where the body loads and unloads through the day and the cushion has to keep working through every angle. It is a deep cushion that carries the pelvis and continues out along the femurs, so weight is shared down the length of the thighs and not concentrated at the ischial tuberosities.
Five compartments of SmartCells cover the ischials, coccyx, trochanters, pelvis and femurs, and each one can be made firmer or softer by adding or removing cells. That gives you a way to manage a client at very high risk of pressure injury, or one who needs positioning help as well as skin protection, without changing the whole seating system.
