The Vicair Anatomic Back gives a manual wheelchair user back support that follows the shape of their spine. It is filled with SmartCells, air filled cells that move as the client moves, redistributing pressure and taking load off the spinal column.
That makes it worth looking at for scoliosis, including marked curves, and for kyphosis, spinal cord injury and clients with pressure damage over the back. Because the filling conforms to an asymmetric shape, a client with a complex curve is supported along the whole length of the curve, and the cells can be adjusted with the client sitting in the chair.
