Strutt ev¹ · coming to Tasmania
A powered chair built for the whole day, not just the house.
Four motors, front wheel steering and independent suspension on all four corners. The Strutt ev¹ turns inside a hallway, then takes a kerb, a gravel path or a 13 degree ramp without swapping to something else.

In one minute
What the ev¹ actually is
Strutt call it an everyday vehicle. Clinically it is a powered wheelchair: joystick driven, fitted seat, 160 kg capacity. What is different is underneath.
Quad-Drive
Why it handles differently
Most powered chairs steer by driving one wheel faster than the other. The ev¹ steers its front wheels and drives its rear ones, the way a car does.
Four motors, four driven corners
Two front motors steer, two rear motors drive. Torque moves between wheels in real time, so traction holds on grass, gravel and wet ground.
Independent suspension
All four wheels move independently. Kerbs, tree roots and cobbles stop being a decision about whether to go that way.
780 mm turning radius
Because the front wheels actually point where you are going, the chair turns tightly enough for a domestic hallway and a shop aisle.
Two models
ev¹c or ev¹e
Same chassis, same drivetrain, same seating and the same driving figures. The difference is the sensor system, and whether the driver needs it.
evSense is a hardware fit, not a software unlock, so an ev¹e cannot be upgraded later.

Common questions
When can my client actually try one?
Demonstration stock is on the way to Australia. Register your interest above and we will contact you the week trials open, rather than leaving you to check back.
Is it a wheelchair or a scooter?
A powered wheelchair. It is driven from a joystick at the armrest with the driver in a fitted seat, not steered from a tiller. Strutt market it as an everyday vehicle, which is a marketing category rather than a clinical one.
How does it travel in a car?
It splits into five modules including the battery, the heaviest around 19.8 kg. The Hoist Kit is available where lifting is easier than dismantling. It has not been crash tested as a vehicle seat, so the user transfers to a certified seat.
Can it fly?
The 288 Wh Flight-safe Battery is sized for airline carriage, and the Freewheel Kit makes the chair easy to push through a terminal. Acceptance still varies by carrier, so check before booking.
What about funding?
We quote in the format your funding needs, whether that is NDIS, aged care, DVA or private. Ask us for the current position in writing before it goes into a report.
Who services it in Tasmania?
We do, with our own technicians. Delivery, assembly and service are all handled in house.
