The Apex A is Motion Composites’ aluminium rigid chair, and it changed a few minds about what a rigid aluminium frame can feel like. Triple butted AluLite alloy does the structural work and a considered use of carbon fibre takes weight out where it counts, giving a chair that is easy to handle, easy to load and easy to push.
The detail that defines it is the rigidising bar. It holds the frame stable under load without deadening the chair, so lateral movement drops and more of each push goes into forward motion instead of being lost in frame flex. For a client who propels all day, that shows up as less fatigue by the afternoon rather than as a number on a page.
Seat width and depth, back height and angle, front frame angle, seat to floor heights, camber and centre of gravity are all specified on the order, so the chair arrives set up for the client rather than needing weeks of tinkering.
