The Elata E400 is for clients whose pressure care needs are not settled. Used on its own it is a hybrid foam and air surface for pressure injury management at the lower stages. Add a compatible Elata pump and the same mattress becomes a dynamic system carrying treatment support through to the higher stages, with no change of surface for the client.
Foam inserts and air cells work together, so the mattress holds comfort and stability rather than trading them away for pressure redistribution. Heel offloading, side support for edge sitting and transfers, and a breathable protective cover all help keep skin intact between repositioning.
It is a sensible choice in home care and palliative settings, and anywhere a client’s risk may move in either direction over a package. Buying the mattress now and the pump later spreads the cost without stranding the equipment.
