Some wheelchair users want to get off the footpath. The Scrambler 2 Plus is the handbike for clients whose weekends involve gravel tracks, forest paths, grass and steep pitches, and who still need the same unit to handle the trip into town.
Who it suits
It suits experienced wheelchair users with the trunk control and judgement for off road riding, and it is available in configurations for paraplegia, quadriplegia and hemiplegia. An articulated stand frame with suspension helps the front wheel get up and over obstacles on broken ground, and the anti slip function feeds power in progressively when traction is poor, so the wheel is less likely to spin up on loose ground.
Docking uses Batec’s updated anchoring system with a revised lever, which makes attaching and releasing the unit easier to manage independently. Maxxis grip tyres and double wall aluminium rims carry the load, and the removable right dropout keeps servicing simple for whoever maintains the chair.
