This is the Group D Arc bed end in Lissa Oak for the Enable Lifecare Empresa bed, in the version cut for fabric side rails. The mounting points for the Empresa full-length fabric siderail set are built into the board, so the rails lock in the raised position and drop below the mattress for transfers.
It is the same board fitted as standard to the Empresa Complex Needs bed in Arc, Lissa Oak with fabric side rails, and it matches the standard Arc Lissa Oak ends and the Empresa side panels. Two situations call for it: converting a bed with standard Arc ends over to fabric rails, and replacing a head or foot board that has been damaged.
Fabric rails tend to be the choice for a client who moves a lot in bed and would be better off against a soft rail than metal bars, or for a client whose falls plan now calls for full-length rails. If the bed is not going to carry fabric rails, the standard Arc end without the rail fixings is the part you want.
