Supplied in a box of five, Limb Loop Flite slings are used with a hoist to lift and hold a single arm or leg during care tasks. They attach by loops, which suits hoists with a loop style spreader bar or carry bar hooks.
Keeping a stock of them means a sling can be allocated to one person and kept with them, which is often what an infection control policy or a community package needs. It also means a sling is on the shelf when one is in the wash or has been soiled partway through a shift.
The clinical use is straightforward: raise the limb, support it steadily, and free up the carer’s hands for wound care, hygiene, compression or bed changes without anyone taking the weight by hand.
