About this product

Feet slide backwards off footplates, especially when they are wet and the person has extensor tone, poor sitting balance or no active control of the lower limb. Once the heels slip behind the footplate they are in the way of the castors and the chair cannot be pushed safely. This heel strap and fitting stops that happening.

The strap sits behind the heel on the footplate and holds the foot in position, so the leg stays supported through a shower and a transfer and the carer is not stopping every few metres to reposition a foot. It adjusts in length, so it can be set for a small foot or over a shoe.

It is made from polypropylene and polyester, so it copes with constant wetting and can be cleaned with the rest of the chair. The fitting is included, so it can be added to a chair already in service.
