Some of the people who most need body composition data cannot stand on a platform to give it. The seca 525 measures lying down, using a patented measuring mat and adhesive electrodes, so an immobile client can be assessed in bed without being transferred.
It reports muscle mass, fat mass and total body water, along with phase angle, visceral fat and the split between intracellular and extracellular water. For intensive care and for nutrition teams following a deteriorating client, that split is often the figure that changes first and says the most.
The monitor is compact and battery capable, and it talks to the measuring mat over its own Wi Fi, so there is no cable to run under bedding. Results appear as clear graphics on the touchscreen and are stored internally, then sent on to the network when you are back in range.
