Pressure injuries do not only happen under the sitting bones. Wheelchair side guards, armrests, footplates, headrests and helmet linings all press on skin, and the Adaptor Pad is made to go between.
It is a module of individual air cells, pre inflated and ready to use, that behaves like any other ROHO surface: the cells shift under load, so the contact pressure spreads out and shear is reduced.
The useful part for a clinician is that it cuts. You trim the module to the shape of whatever is causing the problem, flat or contoured, and fix it in place. That makes it a practical answer to the one off pressure problem that no catalogue item covers: a bony knee against a side guard, a heel on a footplate, a temple inside a helmet.
