Some clients feel safer on a shower commode when there is something in front of them to hold. The Etac Clean cross bar fits across the arm supports and gives your client a bar to grip, lean forward against and steady themselves on during washing and toileting.
It is useful where trunk control is variable, or where anxiety about falling forward makes showering a difficult part of the day. The bar also gives carers a clear boundary at the front of the chair, which helps when a client tends to slide or lean.
Fitting is tool free: the bar clips onto the arm supports and comes off again for transfers or storage, so a support worker can put it on and take it off without help.
