A guide bar across the front of the Pango gives a child something solid to hold and push against, which helps with trunk control and gives the arms a home base during table work. It also acts as a soft boundary at the front of the seat for a child who tends to launch forward.
The bar is height adjustable on the chair, so you can set it so it supports the forearms without forcing the shoulders up. It can be taken off when it is not needed, which keeps the chair usable for activities where the front needs to be clear.
