Getting in and out of the car is where a lot of otherwise independent clients come unstuck, and it is usually two separate problems: nothing solid to push up on, and no way to turn the hips once seated. This pack covers both with a car assist handle and a swivel seat cushion.
The handle drops into the U shaped striker on the door latch, so it needs no modification to the vehicle and goes in and out in a moment. It has a non slip grip and doubles as an emergency tool with a seat belt cutter and window breaker built in. The cushion turns a full circle, so the client sits down facing out and rotates their hips and legs into the footwell in one controlled movement, with no twisting shuffle.
Together they take the strain out of transfers for the client and for whoever is helping, and both move between vehicles easily for clients who use family or community transport.
