The straps are adjustable and fasten with hook and loop, which means a carer can secure the feet quickly at the start of an outing and release them just as fast at the other end. Five points of contact spread the hold across the foot and around the ankle with no single pressure point, and the material is chosen to stand up to daily use.

They suit children with strong extensor patterns or involuntary movement, where the feet come off the plate repeatedly during a trip. Sold as a pair.
