They are sold in pairs so two carers can work together to position a person safely, and the durable strap construction takes the weight of most clients. The buckle mechanism is simple enough to attach to a range of lateral transfer boards.

The useful part for infection control is that they never need to go through the laundry: wipe them down, or wash in soapy water, rinse and leave to dry, which also cuts the chance of losing them in the wash.
