The GlideWing is the sliding pad that runs along an Immedia Butterfly transfer board. It travels across the board on a very low friction surface, so the client is carried along, not dragged, which is what matters when the transfer involves bare skin.
That makes it the right choice for shower chair and toilet transfers, and for clients with reduced arm strength who cannot shift their own weight along a plain board. The carer still guides the movement, but the effort needed drops sharply and so does the shear on the skin.
It is a light textile part that wipes clean, and it lifts straight off the board when an independent transfer is preferred.
