MultiGlide Gloves are low friction tubes a carer slips over each hand to make the small adjustments that fill a care shift: easing a shoulder or a heel over, freeing a rucked sheet, straightening a hip after a turn.
The point of them is skin. Dragging a client with bare hands pulls the skin against the bed and builds the shear forces that start a pressure injury, and the glove surface releases that tension. They also take the effort out of movements too small to justify setting up a sheet or a hoist.
They are a low cost addition to a pressure care plan and easy to teach to family carers as well as to staff.
