The RC version of the 2800 is operated by infrared remote, which opens up independent transfers for a client who can manage a handset but cannot reach or hold a corded control. Paired with the Handi-Move body support, some clients use it to get themselves in and out of bed with nobody else in the room.
The hoist can be set to stop automatically at points along the rail, so it arrives over the bed, the chair or the toilet without the client having to judge the position each time.
Emergency stop and mechanical emergency descent are user operated and work from floor level, and the motor carries backup controls for a carer if they are needed.
