Slow down brakes suit a Rollz Motion user who tends to get away from themselves: someone with a fast, festinating gait, someone on a slope, or a client who leans heavily on the walker and pushes it out in front of them.
The two drag brakes mount above the wheels on either side of the frame and apply constant resistance, so the walker rolls at a steadier pace without the client having to work the hand brakes. Resistance is set with an adjustment screw and can be wound back to nothing when the walker is being pushed in wheelchair mode.
For a physio, this is a way of building confidence with a client who has had a near miss and has started to avoid walking. They are supplied as a set of two and are not suited to use with air filled tyres.
