A low step at a doorway or a garage entry is enough to stop a wheelchair or a walker. This Tyrex ramp bridges a small rise at a 1 in 10 gradient, which is a gentle enough slope for someone to self propel over or for a carer to push without a run up.

It is moulded from recycled Australian tyre rubber, so it has the weight and grip to stay where it is put, and the surface is slip resistant and UV stable for outdoor use. Rubber also absorbs the knock of castors going over it, which is quieter and easier on the frame.

The full width suits a standard doorway and leaves room either side for a walking frame. Because it can be picked up and moved, it works in rentals and on short term placements where nothing can be modified.
