A door sill or a single step is the most common thing standing between a client and their own back yard. The Tyrex threshold ramp bridges a standard sill height at a gentle 1:10 gradient, and it is wide enough that a wheelchair or scooter can come at it square rather than at an angle.
It is made in Australia from recycled tyre rubber, which makes it heavy enough to stay where you put it with no fixing at all. The surface is slip resistant and UV stable, so it can live outside at a patio or garage door without breaking down.
For rentals and homes where a built ramp is not possible, or not yet approved, this is the quick answer. It also takes out a trip hazard for clients who walk unaided.
Good to know
- No assembly or power needed; place it against the step and it is ready to use
- Can be fixed down with adhesive where a permanent position is wanted
- Tyrex makes the same ramp in other rise heights, so measure the step before ordering
