About this product

A fingertip pulse oximeter earns its place in a community nursing bag, a residential site or a client’s own home where oxygen saturation needs a quick check. The UP-200 clips onto a finger and shows saturation, pulse rate, a pulse bar graph and a waveform on one LCD screen.

The waveform matters more than people expect. A poor trace tells you the reading is unreliable because of weak perfusion or movement, which stops a bad number being written into the notes. The device also holds a usable reading in weak filling conditions, which is common in older clients with cold hands.

It runs on two AAA batteries, switches to standby when no finger is present, and comes with a lanyard and carrying case for a bag or a pocket. Nail polish, bright ambient light and a very long nail all affect accuracy, so those need checking before use.
