A fingertip oximeter is the quickest way to get oxygen saturation, pulse rate and perfusion index on a patient who is short of breath or being monitored at home. It clips on, reads in seconds and shows the result on an OLED screen that can be turned to face either the clinician or the patient.
There are two modes: a spot check for a single reading with pulse rate analysis, and continuous monitoring when a patient needs watching over a longer period. Readings can be stored, and an audible and visual alarm flags a result outside the set limits or a flat battery.
The housing is splash proof and drop resistant, which matters in a clinic where a device gets handled by different staff all day. It suits GP rooms, hospital wards, aged care and home monitoring for adults and children.
