A bandolier harness gives anterior trunk support to a client who slumps or pitches forward in their chair. The straps cross the chest and the intersection point can be moved using elastic loops, so the pull can be set above or below the chest depending on where the client needs holding.
Extended upper straps run over the shoulder and fasten behind the chair back, and the adjustment is made from behind by pulling on finger loops. That is a practical detail for carers, because the tension can be corrected during the day without going in front of the client or taking the harness off.
Quick release buckles sit near the back of the chair, which keeps them clear of the client’s hands while still being fast in an emergency. It is non-stretch, so the position you set is the position the client is held in.
