For a client who tends to go before anyone knows they are moving, a pre alert pad changes the timing of the response. The sensor sits on the bed and picks up the shift of weight as the person sits up or rolls towards the edge, so the carer is alerted while the person is still on the bed, well before they are on the floor.
A delay zone through the centre of the pad keeps ordinary rolling and repositioning from setting it off, which matters in a home where false alarms overnight quickly lead to the alarm being turned off. The pad is cordless with its own transmitter, so there is no lead running from the bed to the monitor and nothing for the person to catch a foot on.
The surface is soft non allergenic PVC with vent holes to cut moisture damage, and it wipes clean. It is designed for flat surfaces.
