Incontinence and a ring cushion are a difficult pairing: fluid gets into open cell foam and the cushion is finished. This one is built for that situation, with a waterproof polyurethane cover that keeps everything out of the foam and comes off for a machine wash.
Under the cover there are two layers. A memory foam top moulds to the client and a polyurethane base foam holds the shape so the ring does not collapse under load. The open centre suspends the coccyx, which is what clients want after childbirth or surgery, or through haemorrhoids, hip bursitis and prostate inflammation.
The cover surface also helps the cushion stay put and reduces the friction a client meets when they shift position. It is compact and light enough to move between a chair at home, the car and a day program.
