This is a two layer seat cushion for clients at lower risk of pressure injury who need mild postural support through the day. A soft memory foam top takes the shape of the client and a high density foam base underneath keeps the seat stable, so the client is not sinking through to the chair.
The cover is where a lot of the value sits. It is a two way stretch waterproof fabric with anti shear and anti friction properties, and the seams are stitched and then heat welded over the stitching, which closes the usual route for fluid and bacteria to get in. A waterfall skirt at the front stops fluid running down into the foam, and a rear zip lets carers strip the cover for washing.
It is a sensible everyday cushion for a wheelchair, a lounge chair or a day chair where infection control matters.
