For a client whose forearm slides off the armrest, drags on the wheel or sits pulled across the body, an arm trough gives the limb somewhere to rest properly. The JAY Arm Trough is a contoured, padded channel that mounts to the wheelchair armrest and holds the forearm and hand in a settled position.
The soft foam contact surface takes pressure off the forearm and elbow, which matters where the arm sits in one place all day and the skin is already fragile. Bringing the arm into a supported position also helps the shoulder drop back into line, and that often improves trunk symmetry and head control further up the chain.
