A fixed kyphotic thoracic spine cannot be corrected, so the back has to come to the client. The JAY Care Back is built for exactly that: a contoured shell with a configurable foam insert that fills in behind a rounded upper back so the weight is spread across the whole upper back.
Built-in lateral support holds the trunk steady, and a wide range of back angle adjustment lets you open the seat to back angle until the client’s head comes up and their line of sight is where it should be. For a carer that usually shows up as easier feeding, better eye contact and a client who settles in the chair.
This version uses clamp hardware, which fixes to the back canes of a standard manual chair and can be released for transport and cleaning.
