Upper arm supports for the Caribou hold the humerus in a set position so the arms do not fall into the body or hang unsupported while the client stands. They suit a client with low tone through the shoulder girdle, or one who fatigues through the arms partway through a stand.
The supports come as a left and right pair with padded troughs, and mount to the frame’s side fittings. Getting the arms supported forward and slightly out usually opens up the hands for play, feeding practice or switch access at the tray.
Two options cover the smaller and larger frames in the range, so match the support to the Caribou size, not the client’s age. Fitting is a tool assisted job, and worth doing with the tray and chest supports in place so you can set the height against a real working position.
