Some clients will not keep a sensor pad under them. They pull it out, or they shift about enough in bed to set it off half a dozen times a night, and the carer stops trusting it. The Cura1 iBeam watches a line instead of a surface.
Set it beside the bed or across a doorway and it sends a radio signal to a paired Cura1 receiver the moment someone crosses the beam. The field is narrow and adjustable, so it can be aimed at the bed edge or the door alone, and a carer moving elsewhere in the room will not trip it. There is a pause mode for when someone is attending, a low battery indicator, and a bracket with screws and tape in the box.
It is common in dementia care at home and in supported accommodation, where the worry is the client leaving the room at night rather than moving in bed. It needs a Cura1 receiver to alarm on, so it usually goes in alongside a pager or a console.
