When a client can’t take any weight through their legs, every transfer becomes a two-person job unless there is a hoist in the room. The Birdie Evo Compact is the smallest hoist in the Birdie Evo range, built for homes where the bedroom is narrow and the en suite is tighter still.
It reaches from a floor pick-up after a fall through to a raised bed or a shower chair, so one carer can manage a transfer that would otherwise need two. The SMARTLOCK spreader bar swings through a full turn, which lets the carer position the sling without walking the whole hoist around the bed. Legs open by hand, and there is electric emergency lowering if the power runs out mid-lift.
Who it suits
Clients who need full sling transfers in a home where space, not capacity, is the limiting factor. The mast lifts off the base without tools and the frame folds, so the hoist travels in a car boot for respite, for a second house, or for a move.
Good to know
