A Braun splint cushion holds the leg in elevation with the hip and knee flexed, the position used after lower limb surgery, for swelling management and for clients who need the leg kept still and raised. It supports the thigh and calf together so the limb is cradled along its length and pressure is spread out.
Four sizes are made, which matters clinically: a splint matched to the client’s leg length keeps the knee and ankle where you want them, and stops the foot hanging off the end. It gives nursing staff a set-up they can reproduce shift after shift without rebuilding a stack of pillows.
Supplied as the pillow, with a washable cover available.
