Head position is hard to hold in a client with low tone or reduced movement, and the back of the head is one of the first places a pressure injury shows up. This support cushion cradles the head and spreads that load, and it can also be used to support a limb where a smaller pad is what the position calls for.
Memory foam is the working layer: it takes the shape of the head under pressure and softens further with body heat, so the contact area grows and the load spreads. An air mesh layer against the skin keeps the surface ventilated.
The cushion is radiolucent, so it can stay in place through MRI, CT and X-ray imaging, which saves repositioning a fragile client. Covers unzip for washing, in antibacterial waterproof fabric or a frotte cover for one client.
