This is the everyday sling for a client on an Arjo clip bar hoist. It is a general purpose full body sling with an integrated head support, so it holds the client from head to thighs in a seated shape through a transfer between bed, wheelchair and commode, and it can be used to lift someone from the floor after a fall.
The leg sections are padded, which takes the pressure off the underside of the thighs on a client who is thin, sore or slow to settle in the chair afterwards. Polyester fabric washes in a standard machine and holds its shape, and the clip attachment gives a quick, positive connection that a carer can see and feel go on. The size range runs wide, with an intermediate size between large and extra large for a client with a long back on a big frame.
It is the right sling for someone with reduced head or trunk control, low tone or fatigue who needs full support while suspended, and it is the sling most Maxi Move and Maxi Sky users end up with as their default. A client with good head control who is hoisted mainly for toileting is better served by an access or hygiene sling that leaves the lower body clear.
Good to know
- Fits clip-attachment spreader bars only; it will not attach to a loop-style hoist
- Size from the Arjo sling measuring guide
- Check the client weight against both the sling and hoist safe working loads
- Inspect before each use and every six months, as required by ISO 10535
